Treatment- Website

Overview
I chose to create my website using WIX website creator due to the fact that I liked the ease of which you could add gadgets and pages to your site and that you could work off a base template in order to make your own unique site.  My website was designed with my house style of peachy pink tones in mind as these colours appear both in my overlay in my music video and in my digipak construction.  For my website I opted to use a peachy tone as I felt that it complimented the grey and black font used throughout nicely.  I use open sans throughout my website as the font due to the fact that I like the concept of using a modern sans serif font and open sans appeared to fit the other font found in my company logo nicely and was simplistic allowing it to translate on my minimalistic website. My website can be navigated using a menu bar which appears directly below the company name and logo which appear on every page in order to reinforce the company presence in the website.

Home page

I opted to insert my music video on my websites home page due to the fact that I liked the way that other websites appear which have done this such as Oh Wonder's old website which also featured a bold simplistic style.  I found that the use of a rectangular pale cream rectangle provided a nice element of framing to the music video and helped to break up the  peach of the websites background and the other colours in the music video.  The music video is set to autoplay in order to gain maximum viewing on the video as this is a technique employed in various companies websites through the use of either music or a music video.

News page

My news page features a selection of small up date news posts that were designed to keep those interested in our music video up to date with the production and planning process.    Imperative commands such as "Click here" are featured on buttons which direct the viewer to our Instagram account demonstrating a link between to media marketing tools.  Wix allowed me to back track dates in order to document large parts of the planning process such as when we gained audio permission for the song we used in our music video.  I feel that if I had had more time to work with this application I would have created more interesting news articles as I originally gained the idea of completing a news section from My Chemical Romance's website as they would write lengthy blog posts in their news section and it enabled them to create a good connection with their fanbase.

Gallery

The gallery was created as a means to show hi-res images which were taken on set on shoot days.  I found this idea interesting as we already had a company Instagram account but that was based more around documenting events on set as they happened the idea of the gallery was to show a more edited and refined version of the on set experience.

Contact us

The contact us page provides the viewer with links to social media sites such a Youtube and Instagram with a miniature Instagram feed appearing in on the page in order to entice the viewer to click to enlarge the images and visit the rest of the feed.  Our company email address is also placed on the website in order to let anyone email the company directly with concerns and a drop us a line feature is present in order to let people converse directly with us through the website.

About us

It was important to me to create an about us section to ensure that the viewers watching the music video could out a face to the credits at the end of the music video and to therefore create a more personal viewing experience.  The persons name is featured in bold  capitals with their main role below capitalised in smaller italics and their other roles featured below this is standard capitalisation and font.

Movie version
The only real difference between the standard version and the mobile version of the website is the fact that the navigation bar moves into a drop down menu in the mobile version in order to allow the website to fit onto a narrow mobile phone screen.
